Streetside Brewery Socially Influenced

ABV 9.5%

This Pastry Brown Ale with waffles from local Cincinnati Brewer Streetside got a lot of hype over the past year so I was excited to finally try it. The hype came in part because the brew was formulated with in put from 11 local Instagram craft beer influencers. No, I was not consulted, but I will not hold that against them. All jesting aside, it is a cool project when you get that many people involved (or a disaster). A brown ale, especially one with such a high ABV, is not my usual go to beer. I enjoy a darker, heavier beer once in awhile but typically enjoy something a bit lighter and fruity (NEIPA, DIPA, etc…) This beer pours a muddy brown with some effervescence and a nice formed head. The aroma is strong maple syrup. The flavors are definitely waffles and maple syrup. Surprisingly sweet. Not extremely heavy, but thick from the sweetness. You do not really notice that the ABV is as high as it is (could be dangerous). Though not my typical choice, this is an excellent beer. Awesome job to everyone involved in the production of this beer from conception to creation.
