Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2019

I was very surprised when I looked back and found that this was the very first review of a Kendall-Jackson wine that I have done. I have been drinking Kendall-Jackson wines for more years than I can remember. They have always been a very reliable wine at the lower price point that I tend to chose from. This “Grand reserve” is a bump up in the price range they live in. The slight increase in price from their “regular” chardonnay to this one is (for me) well worth it. The wine has a nose filled with honeysuckle and yellow apples. The mouthfeel is supple and you can certainly get that they have put this wine through some malolactic fermentation. There is a definite butteriness along with some apple and some tropical notes. A hint of spice rounds out the flavors to add just a bit more complexity. I really enjoyed this chardonnay.
