Sonder Extended Remixx

ABV 8.2%

I am not usually a big fan of West Coast IPAs, however, as Sonder Brewing rarely goes wrong with anything they brew, I was more than willing to give this a try. This Double West Coast IPA brewed with columbus, centennial and chinook hops was well worth my trust. This beer pours a wonderfully clear and bright reddish color with a nice head formation. As the ABV in this is at 8.2%, this is an imperial, however you barely notice the alcohol level. The aroma is sweet with notes of ripe apple. The taste is sweet as well. Not overly sweet, but balanced towards the sweet end as opposed to a typical West Coast IPA that has strong bitter hop and piney notes. Don’t get me wrong, the pine is still in here but it does not dominate the flavor profile. Nor is this a grapefruit bomb as some West Coast IPA’s tend to be either. The fruit here seems more like apricot maybe, it is hard to place. Regardless, this is a really great beer and I will happily be coming back for more.
