Montes Malbec (Chile) 2014

Nice dark color. If you have not guessed already…I love seeing a nice dark, rich color to start things off. It may not guarantee the outcome, but it helps to begin with the right color for the red you are drinking. Aroma of dark fruit, blackberry, cocoa and light sage and vanilla from the French oak. Nice mouth-feel, soft round tannins. Flavors focus on blackberry, black cherry and pomegranate with just a touch of the cocoa that was in the nose. After the wine opened more…there is pepper on the taste as well. This is an excellent wine for only $9.99. I think I found a house wine!
