Peterson Mendo Blendo 2013

$13.99

In full confession…Mrs. Bachanalian and I had already split a bottle of merlot prior to opening this one.  So take the review with that grain of salt added to the mix.  Earthy aromas of mushroom and rich dark soil.  Flavors of plum and dark cherry with oily black olives.  A rich wine with more complexity than expected for the 13.99 price tag.  This was a long shot gamble when I purchased it, but I took the chance based on the blend, which intrigued me…62% Petits Sirah, 28% Syrah, 5% Carignane and 5% Grenache.  The wine originates in Mendocino, which is a favorite memory for both me and the Mrs. This is a very yummy wine, made even yummier for the inexpensive price tag.
