Against the Grain Citra Ass Down DIPA
December 20, 2020
Have to tell ya…the name of this beer is what got me to purchase it. Citra Ass Down…that’s funny. I was looking for a nice thick DIPA…this was not it. The color was my first give-away, clear orange/brown, with minimal head. The aroma let me know that there was going to be some sweetness in this beer. I felt this tasted more like an imperial Belgian. I am not a big fan of Belgian beers as I do not like the syrupy sweetness that I feel defines most that I have had (Mrs. Bacchanalian would have probably enjoyed this beer for this exact reason). I am sure there are plenty of folks who enjoy Belgians and would therefore like this DIPA, I am not one of those. Frankly, I drank about half and threw out the rest.
