Madtree Midwest Luau
In Cincinnati, the first two big “micro” breweries were Rhinegeist and Madtree. As crazy as it is…this is the first beer I am reviewing for Madtree Brewing. Better late than never. I have had many of their beers over the years, but since I began reviewing beers, I have not had one of their beers until now. They have had their standards for a while now and was never excited enough about their standards to drink/review them. I honestly do not intend this as an insult as their beers have always been of a very high quality. I simple went in the direction of new and experimental and left the standards behind (even though they may be very good beers). This “Tropical IPA” is very nice. A soft orange in the glass with light tropical aromas, this beer is quite quaffable at only 6%. Very nice citrus and pine mixed with tropical notes. The brew is light and refreshing and a very easy beer to drink. Think poolside beer. Quite good.
