The Fableist Tempranillo 2020
I have often enjoyed Tempranillo from South America. In fact, I have often sought out the grape from producers in that region. This is the first I have heard of and sampled wine from this producer and do not typically think of California for Tempranillo, however I have always found grapes from the Paso Robles area of California to be incredibly reliable. This bottle states “Central Coast” which turns out to be the Paso Robles area (so happy me). I was a bit surprised that the nose on this wine was so uneventful. Some smoke and very mild berry aromas. Thankfully this wine makes it up in the flavors department. The mouthfeel is very silky. Flavors of blueberry, oak, smoked meat and perhaps a little leather are present. This turned out to be a quite enjoyable wine. I would absolutely drink this again.
